We spent the morning catching and identifying macroinvertebrates at the Teton Research Institute. We then did watercolors of our favorite bugs and winged critters, followed by lunch. In the afternoon, we did a mix-and-match activity to learn about bug body parts such as the head, thorax, and abdomen, and then colored grasshopper pictures.
Follow-up question: What types of macroinvertebrates did we identify at the TRI?
Answer: Answers could include dragonfly nymph, mayfly nymph, snail, water strider, scud, etc.
