Today we took time in the morning to learn about erosion in rivers and how rivers get their shape and sculpt the land over long periods of time through breakdown, transport, and buildup of sediment. Then we headed out to Schwabacher’s Landing and went for a hike, played camouflage, then had lunch. Then everyone found a quiet spot by the river to do some watercolor landscape painting and journaling. We then had some free time to play around in the water and catch frogs before hiking back to the bus.
Follow-up question: In what ways does water affect the landscape over time?
Answer: Weathering, erosion, deposition, glaciers, vegetation, and local climate
