The Mad Scientists had an awesome day doing water experiments. We started out the day making Cartesian Divers to learn about air pressure, density, and buoyancy. Later, we ventured to the Gros Ventre River where we caught and identified macroinvertibrates to determine the quality of the river. We found cadissflies and mayflies, so we concluded that the Gros Ventre River is very healthy and not very polluted. Then, we purified water and drank it, it was so refreshing on this hot day! Lastly, we made boats out of natural materials like logs, sticks, grass, flowers , and moss. Bode, Cassidy, and Becca won the race with a skinny log covered in slimy moss! Tomorrow , we’re looking forward to strong storms and explosions!
Why did your Cartesian Diver sink when you squeezed the bottle?
